RMG – Visit of the Rector Major to Belgium

(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, begins his visit to Belgium this morning. He will remain in the country until next Tuesday 19 April to meet all the Salesians in Belgium, those of the Province of Belgium North (BEN), and those who work in the south of the country and belong to the Province of France-Belgium South (FRB).

He is accompanied by his secretary, Fr Horacio López, and Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, the Councillor for the region of Central and Northern Europe. Today, 15 April, Fr Á.F. Artime met the Provincial Council and the Salesian youth of BEN.

Tomorrow the Rector Major will be busy in the morning, with the staff of Don Bosco en Vorming Animatie and the Don Bosco Centre for schools (DBOC). In the afternoon, he will be at Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe to meet the Salesians and some representatives of the Salesian Family of the South of Belgium.

On Sunday he will visit the community of Groot-Bijgaarden and meet with young people and the local Salesian Family. On Monday he will go to the communities of Hechtel and Sint-Agatha, the second of these in the Netherlands, where the Rector Major will participate in a conference.

Before leaving for Rome, on Tuesday 19 April, the Rector Major will still find time to greet the students of Sint-Pieters-Woluwe and to visit and get to know the situation of "VIA Don Bosco", an NGO working in ten countries of the southern hemisphere.
