(ANS - Paris) - Over a million young people from around the world are expected in Lisbon in early August for World Youth Day (WYD), the largest gathering of young people in the world, initiated by St. John Paul II in the mid-1980s.

(ANS - Verona) - A new model of advanced professional training to face a profoundly changed world of work is being launched by the Salesian University Institute of Venice (IUSVE), with its new advanced academic training course in "Digital Communication, Reputation, and Brand Management". It shall take place at the Salesian University's Verona campus. The best professionals in the sector as lecturers, a flexible and modular theoretical-workshop approach, aimed at both recent graduates and professionals, and a cost that is accessible to all. The objective is high: to transmit the professional skills to manage the new great challenges: digital, reputation, multimedia, strategy, metaverse, immersivity, Artificial Intelligence, algorithms, and polarization, posed by a profoundly transformed world of communication.

(ANS – Hyderabad) - The three-day South Asian team visit concluded on 3 march 2023 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad in the presence of his Eminence, Cardinal Poola Anthony, Archbishop of Hyderabad.

(ANS - Madrid) - On March 1, the IX National Day of Communication was held in Madrid; its theme: "Opening roads: new trends in communication, sharing experiences and creating projects to improve our communication and Salesian presence in the digital environment." The event was attended by 90 communication managers from Salesian presences in Spain, led by Fr. Javier Valiente, National Delegate for Salesian Social Communication, and Carlos Martín, Social Communication Delegate of the "Mary Help of Christians" (SMX) Province.

(ANS – Hyderabad) – The second day of the Team Visit of the Rector Major and the General Council dealt deeply on the topic of youth and youth ministry. Fr Miguel Angel García, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, restated the words of Don Bosco: “Be the signs of the times.” He continued to explain that being signs of the times in the present digital world mean: “scanned,” “read,” “interpreted,” and “assessed.” It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness and it’s our duty to discover what the Lord is saying to us, Salesians. “Don’t settle down for less than what you can achieve” Fr. Miguel Angel García remarked with a broad smile.

(ANS – Lima) – More than 9,600 vulnerable people in Peru received nutritional support thanks to a partnership between Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, and “Feed My Starving Children”, a non-profit Christian organization committed to “feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit.” A shipment of rice-meals was provided to the Don Bosco Foundation in 2022 and distributed throughout the year to 10 civic and religious programs serving people who are sick and elderly, at-risk youth, and other marginalized populations.
