(ANS - Rome) - The countdown to the Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family (SFSD) 2023 has by now reached the dimension of hours and minutes: from tomorrow, Thursday, January 12, until Sunday, January 15, about 300 members of this great religious family meet in Valdocco with the Rector Major and the principal leaders of a good part of the 32 groups of the Salesian Family, to share spirituality, pray together and reflect on the 2023 Strenna: "AS THE YEAST IN TODAY'S HUMAN FAMILY. The Lay Dimension of the Family of Don Bosco." At the same time, many more members of the Salesian Family will participate in the world event thanks to the live digital links from Valdocco and the specific online program organized in some of the 7 Salesian regions.

(ANS - Rome) - Negin is a young Afghan woman who fled her country in 2021, together with her family, to have the right to dream of a different tomorrow, in which she can be the protagonist of her choices. She now lives in Italy, welcomed by a supportive network and by the Salesians; she studies on a refugee scholarship and has started a new life with her family. “We are free here,” she says.

(ANS - Madrid) - At the beginning of the new year, and with the feast day of Don Bosco already in sight, an educational-pastoral proposal arrives in Spain’s Salesian presences to continue promoting and consolidating an authentic vocational culture. (ANS - Vatican City) - On 6 January 2023, Solemnity of the Epiphany, the Press Office of the Holy See communicated that Holy Father Francis has appointed the Salesian Fr. Giordano Piccinotti as Under-Secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA). He belongs to the "San Carlo Borromeo" Province of Lombardy-Emilian Italy (ILE).

(ANS - Paris) - With 24 affiliated associations, which manage about a hundred structures and services throughout the country, the "Don Bosco Action Sociale" (DBAS) network is one of the main Christian-inspired networks operating in the social sector in France. Coordinated by Fr. Jean-Marie Petitclerc, SDB, a well-known educator and former Director General of the "Le Valdocco" Association, the DBAS network, launched in 2018, will hold its third assembly in Caen on 25 and 26 May 2023.

For years now, Salesian houses have also been participating in the various activities promoted on 6 January throughout the country with historical re-enactments, festive initiatives and above all many charitable initiatives to bring some gifts and a moment of joy even to the children most at risk.
