(ANS - Castelnuovo Don Bosco) - On Sunday, January 29, the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, visited the Colle Don Bosco, celebrating the 5:00 p.m. Eucharist in the Basilica dedicated to St. John Bosco before a multitude of faithful.

(ANS - Savona) - During 2023, the diocese of Savona-Noli will celebrate the centenary of the birth of Vera Grita (1923 - 1969), Servant of God, Salesian Cooperator and Eucharistic mystic, with a series of events promoted by the "Vera Grita and don Gabriello Zucconi Foundation - Opera dei Tabernacoli Viventi" and the "Maria Ausiliatrice" parish of Savona.

(ANS - Vienna) - As part of the AMOS educational initiative, the Salesian refugee reception center "Don Bosco Sozialwerk" in Vienna has launched an initiative to offer German courses to Ukrainian refugee mothers together with their children. The offer is particularly aimed at Ukrainian mothers with children under the age of five who do not have adequate childcare places. The German course is free of charge for the participants.

(ANS – Sliema) – On the feast of St. Francis de Sales marking the 400th anniversary, the Don Bosco Foundation in Malta has launched a new educational institute for non-formal education, offering courses to train educators as well as young people and provide them with an array of soft skills that will be useful throughout their lives.

(ANS - Algeciras) - On Wednesday, January 25 in Algeciras, Spain, a gunman attacked several people in two churches in the city, causing several injuries in the San Isidro chapel, including Salesian Fr. Antonio Rodríguez Lucena, and then murdering the sacristan of the nearby Nuestra Señora de la Palma parish, Diego Valencia. Regarding the whole affair, the Salesians of Algeciras issued a statement, in which they also said that the wounded Salesian was operated on and declared out of danger on the same day Wednesday and that as early as Thursday 26 he was discharged from the hospital.

(ANS - Rome) - Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, marks the centenary of the birth of Vera Grita, born in Rome on Jan. 28, 1923, the second child of Amleto, a photographer by profession for generations, and Maria Anna Zacco della Pirrera, of noble origins. The close-knit family also included her older sister Giuseppa (called Pina) and younger sisters Liliana and Santa Rosa (called Rosa). On December 14 of the same year, Vera received Baptism in the parish of San Gioacchino in Prati, also in Rome.
