(ANS - Soyapango) - The "Universidad Don Bosco" (UDB) of El Salvador, through the Department for University Pastoral Care, organized Salesian Days, a space for meeting, dialogue, and conviviality for the entire educational community of the UDB. The objective of this meeting was to reinforce the Salesian identity that characterizes the university and to reflect on the actions that each of the members takes to contribute to the education of students.
(ANS - Medellín) - The Salesian program to counter the exploitation of child labor in the Sinifaná basin southwest of Medellín in Colombia has achieved its first objectives. The project aimed to counter the dramatic situation in the coal mines, where only children can easily pass through the many narrow shafts, forced to work risking their lives every day.
(ANS – Nairobi) – Although Kenya's economy is the largest and most developed in eastern and central Africa, some 16.1% of its population lives below the international poverty line. This severe poverty is mainly caused by economic inequality, corruption, and health problems. In turn, poverty also worsens these factors. Kenyan young people who have been forced from their homes are impacted by the environments they find themselves in.
(ANS - Sangradouro) - On Friday, January 13, a group of 41 young people, medical students and doctors from the Faculty of Medicine of the University Center of Lusíada (UNILUS), in Santos, São Paulo State, Brazil, reached the Salesian missions among the indigenous peoples of Sangradouro and Meruri, to carry out the 14th expedition of the Academic Project of Assistance to Indigenous Peoples (PAAPI).
