(ANS - Rome) - "In the name of the Supreme Pontiff Francis and by the authority granted to me by him, I declare the academic year 2022/2023, the eighty-third since the foundation of the University, open." With these words, last Wednesday, Oct. 19, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation and Grand Chancellor of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), sanctioned the official start of the new year's activities.

(ANS - Mumbai) - With his arrival in Mumbai early this morning, Friday, October 21, 2021, Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, began a 10-day trip to India. A journey that, after its first stage at India's most populous city, reached its climax with stops in the Provinces of Guwahati (ING) and Shillong (INS), where the Tenth Successor of Don Bosco shall celebrate the centenary of the arrival of the first Sons of Don Bosco in Northeast India together with Salesians, Salesian Family, and young people.

(ANS - Tirana) -  From October 18 to 23, twenty-two Salesians in the phase of the quinquennium, belonging to the Southern Italy Province (IME) and the Central Italy Circumscription (ICC), with their respective Provincials and Provincial Vicars, are living a joint formation experience in Albania and Kosovo, visiting the Salesian communities present in those lands: Pristina, Gjlan, Shkodra and Tirana, where they meet with confreres, lay people and young people.

(ANS - Carmona) - The Salesian presence in Carmona, a Spanish municipality in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, in the province of Seville, is celebrating 125 years this year. Nowadays, 125 years of perseverance is a rare achievement, but with Don Bosco and Mary Help of Christians anything is possible. Therefore, in a spirit of gratitude and appreciation, the anniversary celebration was kicked off in Carmona on Sunday, October 9, with a solemn Mass celebrated in the church dedicated to St. James the Greater.

(ANS - Brasilia) - The 8th National Meeting of the Salesian Network of Brazil (RSB) - Social Action Sector, on the theme "New Challenges in Times of Hope: Resignifying Our Mission!" is underway these days, from Tuesday, October 18 to today, Thursday, October 20. Like last year, the event is being held entirely online. On the first day alone, more than 400 participants connected virtually to reflect on and study social action movements in Salesian works together.
