(New Rochelle) – Fr. Marcin Kaznowski, SDB, the provincial of the Krakow Province (PLS), visited the SUE province from Tuesday, June 7 to Friday, June 17. The primary purpose of his coming to USA is to visit Salesians from the PLS province serving in the SUE province: Fr. Krzysztof Cepil, Fr. Tomasz Grzegorzewski, Fr. Zbigniew Majcher, and Fr. Andrzej Papiezs. He spent a few days with the Salesians in Chicago, IL; Cherry Hill, NJ; and Woodbridge, NJ. For much of the visit, he will stay in the provincial house, and from there go to Port Chester, Salesian Missions, and other Salesian communities. While in New Rochelle, Fr. Marcin talked about the Salesians from the PLS province working in Ukraine and how the Salesian works in Poland have adapted because of the war in Ukraine.

(ANS – Sliema) – CheckIn is a new project which focuses on supporting young people through a journey of exploration, self-growth, and active involvement in the community. Its aim is to create opportunities and facilitate experiences for young people to embark on a journey of self-exploration and engagement with nature, culture, and travel, with a focus on faith and spirituality.

(ANS - San Lorenzo de El Escorial) - From June 10-12, 2022, the 5th Regional Congress of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) of the Iberian Region, formed by the 7 Provinces of Salesian Cooperators in Portugal and Spain, was held in El Escorial. Held under the motto "It is near," the Congress had a dual purpose, programmatic and elective. On the one hand, it served to analyze the steps taken in the last six years, outlining new objectives and lines of action for the next six years; on the other, it made it possible to elect the new World Councilor for the Region, as well as the new members of the Regional Executive Secretariat (SER).

(ANS – Koko) – Youth attending the Don Bosco Vocational Training Center in Koko, within the Kebbi State of Nigeria, received scholarships thanks to donor funding from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The 150 students who received scholarships were selected based on criteria developed at the school: among the students were youth who were directly affected by bandit attacks, teenage girls who were about to be forced into marriage, youth from poor backgrounds, and orphans who lost either parent. Other students selected had not received any formal education and were willing to learn a skill.

(ANS - Rome) - After nearly four years of typically Salesian service, that is, in favor of those most in need, the project of the Salesians of Italy "Giving more to those who had less" has come to an end, a project selected by the social enterprise "Con i Bambini" as part of the Fund for the contrast of juvenile educational poverty, which involved 14 territories in seven Italian regions (Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sicily, Lazio, Liguria, and Marche), characterized by situations of dispersion, early school leaving, cultural deprivation, and poverty.

(ANS - Pamplona) - The Salesian School and Vocational Training Center complex in Pamplona, in its new location in Sarriguren-Valle de Egües, has been recognized as a valuable architectural work by the Official College of Architects of the Basque Country and Navarre (COAVN, in Spanish), which deemed it the winner of the Prize it awards in the "Public and Technological Buildings" section. For this, last June 14, in the "Baluarte" Auditorium in Pamplona, architects Álvaro Cordero, Carlos Garmendia, Daniel Azpilicueta, Imanol Carlos García de Albéniz, Iñaki Tanco, and Pedro Garmendía, who designed and built the work, were honored by the COAVN, together with Fr. Jorge Lanchas, as a representative of the sponsoring institution, the Salesians of Don Bosco.
