(ANS – Nairobi) – After an almost five-months-long stay in the Eastern Africa Province of St John Bosco (AFE, headquarters in Nairobi-Kenya, Provincial Fr. Simon Asira Lipuku) the Extraordinary visitor 'ad nutum' and 'pro tempore', Fr. Václav Klement SDB concluded his stay in the four countries of Eastern Africa on June 11, 2022. During the last two weeks of his stay in AFE province, Fr. Klement had a series of meetings with the Provincial Council, with the Rectors and confreres, and especially was able to attend the 9th Provincial chapter, in Utume-Nairobi, and the AFE provincial community day.
(ANS - Turin) - There are 8 of them and they come from the 5 continents and 6 Salesian regions: they are the Provincials and Vice-Province Superiors participating in the Course of Formation and Accompaniment for newly appointed Provincials currently already underway at the Salesian Motherhouse in Turin. Accompanying them on the intense course is the entire General Council, also gathered in Valdocco for the work of the General Council.
(ANS - Brasilia) - From June 7 to 10, the "Meeting of Salesian Publishers of America" was held in Brasilia, at the "Laguna Plaza" Hotel, with representatives from Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, and Paraguay - as well as some guests from Spain, and Fr. Ricardo Campoli, of the Sector for Social Communication based in Rome.
(ANS – Onitsha) – In February 2022, the European Training Foundation (ETF) launched a call for examples of good practice on the role of skills in empowering the green transition. The call, entitled ‘Green transition: education, training and skills’ aimed to collect stories about how education, training and skills development is supporting the shift towards sustainable, clean, carbon-neutral circular economies and societies. Don Bosco Tech Africa presented the best practice of use of renewable energy in Don Bosco Jobitech Onitsha, Nigeria.
(ANS - Rome) - Since its origins, the Salesian Congregation has been known and appreciated worldwide for its Vocational Training Centers (VTC), which offer young people integral development and quality preparation for the world of work, enabling them to face the future with confidence and responsibility. Salesian Vocational Training Centers offer vocational guidance, education, and training services following the educational methodology of St. John Bosco.
