(ANS – Hyderabad) – On the Pearl Anniversary (30th) of the Salesian Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad, Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK), the Planning and Development Office of the Province, released the BOLD (Better Opportunities for Learning and Development) report which is a study and evaluation of all the communities from August 2021 to January 2022 and its strategic planning for the six-year period (2022-2028). It was released on 24 April 2022 by Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, sdb, and Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy, sdb, in the presence of Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar, sdb, the executive director of BSK. Through BOLD, BSK evaluated five categories: 1. Schools & Colleges, 2. Technical Schools, 3. Parishes, 4. Youth Services, and 5. Young at Risk.
(ANS – Sevilla) – With 196 VET (Vocational Education and Training) centers in 19 European countries, the Salesians of Don Bosco are supporting over 60.000 young people in their transition from school to work with an integral educative proposal. DBWAVE is the acronym of the « Don Bosco Web for a more Accessible and inclusive VET in Europe », a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The final meeting of this project’s partners and its final conference took place from 26th to 28th of April in Sevilla, Spain. On this occasion, beyond the project’s results and outputs, some concrete ideas and a strategy for the future of this network were presented to all the stakeholders involved.
(ANS - Rome) - "You are confreres in formation as priest Salesians. Careful: I did not say Salesian priests, but priest Salesians." These are the words addressed by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, to the young fourth-year confreres of the Community "Blessed Zeffirino Namuncurá" of the Theological Studentate of Gerini, welcomed yesterday afternoon, May 2, at the Salesian Headquarters.
(ANS - Rome) - Just a few days have passed since the conclusion of the Animation Visit that the Rector Major made to the "Mary Help of Christians" Vice-Province of Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe-Namibia (ZMB), and in the soul of Fr Ángel Fernández Artime the echo of all the experiences he lived still resounds strongly. "My heart is full of reasons to give thanks," he said yesterday, Monday, May 2, in the "Salesian goodnight" to the community at Salesian Headquarters.
(ANS - Calauan) - In 2010, at the insistent request of Bishop Leo Drona, SDB, of the Diocese of San Pablo, a Salesian presence was established near the town of Calauan in Laguna Province, Philippines, to serve the relocation areas of urban slum dwellers who were resettled by the government from Manila and its suburbs.
