(ANS - Rome) – The Salesian Communicators’ School of Formation for North America met for the first time on Wednesday, October 27 at 1:00 pm ET via Zoom. The meeting was led by Julia St. Clair, communications coordinator for the SUE Province, and presented by Fr. Gildásio Mendes dos Santos, SDB, general councilor for social communication.

(ANS – Chennai) – The Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF), the world’s first Global Salesian film festival, was conducted on the premises of the Salesian headquarters of the Province of Chennai by the Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts (DBICA) and Don Bosco Arts and Science College on December 11, 2021. Although the festival was scheduled for mid-November, the unexpected heavy rains in Chennai postponed the event to December with the same glory as planned earlier. Veteran film editor and National Film Award winner, B. Lenin, presided over the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, and Father Amirthraj Arokiam, SDB, writer, editor and publisher, as the guest of honour.

(ANS – Rzepczyno) – During the 2021 Extraordinary Visitation conducted on behalf of the Rector Major by Fr Václav Klement, Extraordinary Visitor “ad nutum” and “pro tempore”, Rzepczyno Salesian Youth Center was chosen as the last of 28 communities in Poland (another 5 communities of PLN are located in other 3 countries). Since 2007 Rzepczyno Youth Center is growing as a Valdocco of the Province. It’s one of the 94 Youth Centers in Poland where find their home young people in need. Until now already almost 800 young people were welcomed in this Valdocco and the educators are happy to keep in touch with 70% of their past pupils.

(ANS - Guadalajara) - Caring for the environment has always been a responsibility, a vision that can be sustained with an outlook of faith, as Pope Francis has stated on various occasions and opportunities, and as he wisely summarized in his encyclical Laudato Sì, which is probably his greatest impetus for the care of the Common Home. But in addition to being a responsibility to be assumed, the environment and its deterioration constitute an emergency to which it is impossible to turn away, because the entire planet and its inhabitants would be compromised.

(ANS - Madrid) - Next 22 December, at 7.30 pm, the National Auditorium of Madrid will host the First Christmas Concert of "Misiones Salesianas", the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid. The program includes the performance of Symphony no. 1 “For a better world” by Juan Antonio Simarro, composer, pianist, director and music producer for film, theater, ballet and television. The proceeds from this Christmas concert will go to the “Misiones Salesianas” campaign called “Inocencia entre rejas” (Innocence behind bars).
