(ANS - Santiago) - Last Thursday, July 26, the President of the Republic of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, visited the teenage shelter "Nueva Luz", of the "Fundación Don Bosco", in the municipality of La Reina, a suburb of Santiago. The meeting originated from an invitation addressed to the Minister of Social Development, Alfredo Moreno Charme, and to the Minister of National Heritage, Felipe Ward Edwards, on the day of the center's inauguration.

India – BREADS at TIA Summit

(ANS – Bangalore) – What could BREADS possibly have in common with Blockchain technology evangelists? Not much, really. (ANS - Kuching) - In his few days of his animation visit to the small Salesian missionary outpost in Malaysia, in Kuching, Fr Václav Klement, Regional Councilor for East Asia-Oceania, focused mainly on gaining direct knowledge of the context of the mission , more than on the animation of the community. (ANS - Diano d'Alba) - On 28 and 29 July, celebrations to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of the Servant of God Mgr. Oreste Marengo took place in Diano d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo. Oreste Marengo, born in Diano d'Alba in 1906, first departed as a missionary to Northeast India at the age of 17. In 1923, he was ordained bishop in 1951 in Turin's Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. He died in Tura, Assam State, India, 30 July 1998.

(ANS – Sonada) – Students of one of the most vulnerable regions in India for victims of human trafficking got alert on women and child trafficking by one of the leading Non Government Organisations working in the filed for over a decade. The students of Salesian College Sonada (SCS) as well as senior students of four neighbouring high schools had a two hour workshop on “Women and Child Trafficking” organised by “Women Cell and Human Rights Cell” of SCS, 28 July 2018.
