(ANS – Goma) – A hundred young people from the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) took part from 10 to 19 July in a training session at the youth centre at Don Bosco Ngangi. These young people - who are part of the internal SYM team called "Tujenge" (Let's Build, in Swahili) - have made themselves available to accompany the young people participating in the Salesian Youth Games at the work, which started a few days ago, and which this year sees many displaced young people involved.

(ANS - Madrid) – World Youth Day (WYD), which will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 1 to 6 August 2023, is now in the final stages of preparation before the start. The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) in Spain, with 2,200 young participants, will join this great worldwide event of enormous importance for the Church, around Pope Francis, to witness to their faith.

(ANS– Alassio) – 21 Salesians (18 priests and 3 brothers) and a priest from the Confederation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri met for the third edition of the seminar on the centrality of the Eucharist in the Salesian charism from 23 to 26 July 2023 at the Salesian work in Alassio, in the Province of Savona, It was based on the writings and testimony of the Servant of God Vera Grita, Salesian Cooperator, whose centenary of birth is celebrated this year (Rome 28 January 1923). The meeting, coordinated by Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, concluded the online initiative to explore the 28th General Chapter of the Congregation "on the urgent need to make the ‘Da mihi animas, cetera tolle’ a reality in the proclamation of the Gospel", organised by the "Work of Living Tabernacles" Study Centre and the Conference of Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) Formation sector.

(ANS – Rome) – In 2024, the Salesian Family around the world will celebrate the second centenary of the dream that the young John Bosco – the future Don Bosco – had in 1824, at the age of nine. In fact, it is well known in the Salesian Family as "the dream at nine years of age". For this reason, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Father and Centre of Unity for the Salesian Family, decided to dedicate the theme of Strenna for 2024 to this dream, and as is the case every year, at the end of the summer plenary session of the General Council he announced the motto that will inspire it: "The dream that makes you dream". A heart that transforms "wolves" into "lambs".

(ANS – Cape Town) - The Salesian Institute Youth Projects’ Waves of Change program, located in Cape Town, South Africa, provides education to at least 200 youth each year. The program recently added a “Stitching Ahead” course to teach young women hand-sewing and machine-sewing techniques.

(ANS- Ambato) - For almost 30 years, the Don Bosco Agricultural School in Ambato has been a large family where children who have experienced traumatic situations of violence can recover and exercise their rights, learn to live together and respect each other, and discover their abilities through workshops to continue studying and learning a profession. The ultimate goal of all this extensive work is family reintegration or the adoption of children in need, and to this end Salesians also work with families to create a loving and protective environment. Henri Tendetza is one of the beneficiaries to whom the Salesians are managing to give opportunities for the future.
