Asunción, Paraguay - The first Salesian students in Paraguay pose with an image of Msgr. Lasagna. Fr Giuseppe Gamba, Mons. Lasagna's successor, wanted to give the new Salesian presence the name of "Colegio Monseñor Lasagna" as a constant commemoration of the intrepid bishop. In 1894, Msgr. Lasagna wrote to the First Successor of Don Bosco, Fr Michele Rua: "Paraguay is the coveted land of many Salesian hearts".
