Macau - 1921 - This old picture shows a group of Salesian missionaries, together with St Louis Versiglia (front row, centre), Salesian bishop and martyr canonised in 2000. The photo also shows Fr José da Silva Lucas (sixth in the second row), who was the first Portuguese to work in Macau, where he arrived in 1912. The Salesian presence in Macau had already begun in 1906, with the handover of the Orphanage of the Immaculate Conception to the Salesian Congregation.

Madrid, Spain - 1934 - A historical photograph of the Salesian house in Atocha, showing the student band. This band performed during the celebrations in honour of Don Bosco's Canonisation on Easter Sunday, 1 April 1934, in Rome. At the centre we see Blessed Enrique Saiz, the then Rector of the house, accompanied by some Salesian Brothers and Blessed Emilio Arce (far left, seated). The Salesian house in Atocha at that time had three musical ensembles: a band of children's instruments, another of cornets and drums with the older boys, and a small orchestra of violins directed by Fr Juan Beobide, a Salesian priest.

Magdalena del Mar, Peru - 1928 - An old photograph capturing a  moment of the blessing of the monument dedicated to Dominic Savio, in the  Salesian house in Magdalena del Mar, on 20 May 1928. This  significant image, preserved at the Historical Archives of Peru, is also part of the commemorative "Church, Courtyard and Sea: 100 Years of the Salesian Parish of Magdalena del Mar" photo exhibition opened on 10 November at the hall of the Municipal Palace in Magdalena del Mar.

Goa, India – 1906 – The beginnings of the Salesian presence in India, in the diocese of Meliapor, date back to 1906. In those years Meliapor was part of the Portuguese patronage and here the Salesians founded two orphanages, one in Tanjor in 1906 and another in Meliapor in 1909.
