Rome, Italy - 1940 - On May 3, 1940, the Holy See, through a special decree signed by Card. Giuseppe Pizzardo, approved and erected the Pontifical Salesian Athenaeum, under the leadership of Fr. Ricaldone, who was the first Grand Chancellor. The Athenaeum, despite the difficulties caused by World War II, continued its activities and even managed to start, at the Faculty of Philosophy, an Institute and Seminary of Pedagogy.
San Salvador, El Salvador - 1931 - A group of young people pose together with the Salesians at the Festive Oratory of the "Blessed Don Bosco" Center in the city of San Salvador. The Center was named after "Blessed" Don Bosco since he, clearly, had not yet been canonized at the time. The image was posted on the Flickr channel of the Salesian Bulletin of Central America.
Vienna, Austria - 1904 - On his second trip to Austria in 1904, Fr. Michael Rua visited the Kinderschutz Station in Vienna. In this old photograph we see him surrounded by Salesians and many children, holding a large picture of Don Bosco in their hands.
Mogofores, Portugal - 1972 - A shot capturing a moment of the Salesian Family meeting held in 1972 at the Salesian Seminary in Mogofores. About ninety participants including Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils and family members attended the event.
