Viedma, Argentina - 1916 - Salesian coadjutor Br. Artemide Zatti, whose canonization is set for Sunday, Oct. 9, is portrayed in this photograph together with the medical staff of the "San José" hospital, which the Salesians ran from the end of the 19th century and of which he was the real soul. In the image, dating from the year 1916, it is possible to see, in addition to Artemide Zatti, Salesian coadjutors Giovanni Cartella and Angelo Mori and Fr. Andrea Pestarino. Santa Ana, El Salvador - 1941 - In this old photograph, taken in 1941 in Santa Ana, El Salvador, a moment of leisure and fun is captured, featuring some young Salesians and Marists, ready to compete in a game of basketball.

Veržej, Slovenia - 1912 - On October 27, 1912, Msgr. Mihael Napotnik, then bishop of Maribor, blessed a new Salesian boarding school in Veržej, a small town in northeastern Slovenia. In this institute, many local people received their education. It then became a studentate for young Salesians from the former Austro-Hungarian Province until the end of World War I, and after that it was transformed into a secondary school and a festive oratory.

Spain - Blessing of Sacred Heart Chapel

Barcelona, Spain - 1886 - On July 3, 1886, the Chapel of the Sacred Heart desired by Dorothea de Chopitea was blessed in Barcelona. Later, on the same site, the Salesians had the Expiatory and National Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built, which today is known as the Tibidabo Shrine.
