Perosa Argentina, Italy - 1924 - Last January 17, we commemorated the Dies Natalis of Fr. Ignatius Stuchlý, the first Czech Salesian. In this old photograph, which dates back to 1924, Fr. Stuchlý is immortalized in the Piedmont town of Perosa Argentina. In this house, for some years, young Czechoslovaks had been gathering, preparing to transplant the Salesian work in their homeland. Ignatius was called to direct it before returning to his homeland, Fryšták, in 1927.

Évora, Portugal - 1956 - On 3 June 1956, the first stone of the Church "Our Lady Help of Christians" of Évora was laid. The ceremony was presided by the then Archbishop of Evora, Monsignor Manuel Trindade Salgueiro, in the presence of the Salesian Provincial, Fr Agenor Vieira Pontes.

Madrid, Spain - 1901 - This image, belonging to the digital fund of the Salesian archives in Carabanchel, is rich in history. It may in fact be a reproduction of the first photograph of the Salesians in Madrid, here portrayed together with a group of young people from the Oratory. The photograph was first published in the Salesian Bulletin of August 1901.

Mexico City, Mexico - 1892 - The Salesians of Mexico commemorate 129 years of presence in the country this year. In fact, in December 1892, the first Salesian missionaries arrived in Mexico, sent by Fr Michele Rua, Don Bosco's First Successor. Once they arrived, they were greeted by Mr. Ángel Lascuráin, President of the Catholic Circle.
