(ANS – Dublin) – The Salesians came to Ireland in 1919 on the invitation of Dr Denis Hallinan, the Bishop of Limerick. On the feast day of the Immaculate Conception, 8th December 1919, four Salesians, led by Fr Sutherland, arrived in Copsewood House, Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. They opened an Agricultural College, the first foundation of the Salesians in Ireland. On 8 December 2018 they celebrated the opening Mass of this Year of its Centenary Celebration in the Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians in the Salesian House in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick.
(ANS - Lima) - We cannot but be more grateful and, at the same time, saddened by the departure of Fr Ugo de Censi, who leaves us a bit orphans. But we know that he is in the Oratory of Heaven, next to Don Bosco, illuminated by the luminous face of that God he so desired.
(ANS - Budapest) - Exactly one month ago, on 4 November, the Animation Visit of Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, to the smallest Province of the Congregation, that of Hungary (UNG), came to its conclusion. Among the Hungarian Salesians those days remain etched in their memory.
(ANS – Rome) – Christian spirituality as understood from the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth is one which manifests itself in the way a person in keeping with his faith in God responds to a concrete human situation. The Word becoming flesh was itself a sign of God’s love for humankind (Jn. 3:16). Jesus declared that He had come not to do His own will but the will of Him who sent Him (Jn. 6:38). Right from the beginning of His public ministry both through His words and actions Jesus identified the will of God with the total well-being of all people.
