SPECIAL REPORTS

(ANS - Rome) - Salesian Brother Jesús Julián Garcia Garrido, known simply as Signor Jess, is the current Community Economer of the Salesian Central Office in Rome, a position he was called to about a year ago. A native of Spain, he served as a missionary in the Philippines and in Papua New Guinea, for a total of 35 years. In view of the VII Congress of Salesian Brothers of East Asia and Oceania, he contributed to the reflections with a short essay entitled, "My heresies. A personal reflection on the Salesian Lay Person."

(ANS - Rome) - Women who are not afraid of struggling and fighting for the good of their families, women who walk many hours on dusty roads with children on their backs, women who also want to improve themselves, make decisions, take initiatives and drive activities: the International Day of African Woman, celebrated today, July 31, wants to celebrate all of them.

(ANS - Paris) - Adult educational actions mainly take the form of special programs. Yet, there will always be spaces and moments for spontaneous play. In this case we are talking about informal pedagogy or, as it is called in the Salesian schools, "courtyard" or "playground" pedagogy. Don Bosco himself was very attentive to this. But what characterizes this pedagogy?

(ANS - San Salvador) - We talk about social networks and we run the risk of understanding them only as a means of transmitting information. But with them, a new way of learning and thinking is created, creating opportunities to establish relationships and create bonds.
