RMG - Letter of the Vicar General to Provincials at the conclusion of the approval of the Provincial Chapters

26 July 2016

(ANS - Rome) - At the end of the summer session of the General Council, one of the most important issues was the revision of the Provincial Chapters. The Vicar General, Fr Francesco Cereda, sent a letter to all the Provinces and Vice-Provinces in which he expresses thanks for the work of all the Salesians.  He writes: "We are pleased with the work that the provinces have done and we thank them for that. For us, this study has been challenging, but we are aware that this will help in the growth of the charism of Don Bosco wherever we are present."

They will soon receive, if they have not already received, the letter of approval written by the Secretary General, Fr Stefano Vanoli, on behalf of the Rector Major and the General Council. Fr Cereda says: "This letter is to be made known, together with the documents of the provincial chapter amended in accordance with the observations made."

After the provincial chapter, the application process continues. The Vicar General continued: "In the General Council we asked how the journey is to be accompanied, so that the work done can now be put into practice.  I am sending some guidelines in relation to the two topics proposed by us and addressed by you in the provincial chapter. "

The letter is available on the website www.sdb.org
