Japan – 75th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Charity

(ANS – Miyazaki) – Yesterday Sunday 10 June Feast of Corpus Christi, the Sisters of Charity of Jesus celebrated the 75th anniversary of their being founded at Miyazaki. Of the thousand or so Sisters (SCJ) in the world, almost 250 religious from 11 countries took part in the festivities also held in Miyazaki.

(ANS – Ferrara) – To help the people hit by the earthquakes in Emilia Romagna, the local Salesian Family is reorganising as quickly as it can the traditional Childrens Summer Project adapting it to the changed circumstances of the people.

(ANS – Talca) – At the beginning of June it was announced that the Salesian educational centre in Talca has obtained the Management Certificate of Quality for the next three years. It is the first time that this Salesian centre has received such a recognition which has two features: it is given to both the technical-vocational centre and the scientific-humanities courses of the institute; and for the maximum possible number of years granted by the Fundación Chile to an institute for the first time.

Bangkok, Thailand - 10 June 2012 – Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes Sants and Spiritual Director of the Association of  Mary Help of Christians met a local group of the  ADMA in Bangkok, with  40 members led by  Fr Joseph Peter Nopphadon, Youth Ministry Delegate. During the meeting Fr  Cameroni listened to an account of the life and activities of the group founded in  1998 and offered them some suggestions for the future in accompanying young  families and involving young people in the ADMA.
