ARTEMIDE ZATTI

(ANS - Žilina) - Their work has produced artifacts now scattered all over the globe and is a perennial testimony to the bond between Salesians and young people; their gesture of generosity was among the most appreciated among those that took place throughout the Salesian world on the occasion of the canonization of Artemide Zatti: we are talking about the youth and Salesians of the pastoral, educational community of Žilina, Slovakia, who, to prepare for the pilgrimage in Don Bosco's footsteps to Rome on the eve of the canonization of the "relative of all the poor," last October, made and distributed more than 700 icons of St. Artemide Zatti free of charge. Now those same icons can be ordered and made for anyone who wishes to acquire one.

(ANS – Vatican City) - On March 29, 2023, the Secretariat of State of the Holy See transmitted, through Msgr. Paolo Rizzi, to the Postulator General Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni the Decretal Letter concerning the Canonization of Blessed Artemide Zatti that took place on October 9, 2022. This is a document in which something of utmost importance and relevance in the life of the Church is established. The text of the Decretal Letter begins with the name of the Supreme Pontiff, followed by "ad perpetuam rei memoriam." It is signed at the foot by the Pontiff (Ego Franciscus Catholicae Ecclesiae Episcopus), the lead stamp and papal seal are affixed. The juridical-canonical purpose of this Letter is the written confirmation of the Canonization of Blessed Artemide Zatti. The text includes brief biographical notes on the new saint and a brief summary of the canonical process of the Cause. Translated into Latin by the appropriate office of the Secretariat of State, the text is published in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis, the official commentary of the Apostolic See.

(ANS - Pilar) - The Team Visit to the Salesian Region of America Southern Cone concluded on Friday, March 24, at the retreat house "El Cenáculo-La Montonera," led by the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, with the participation of his Vicar, Fr. Stefano Martoglio, Sector Councilors (Formation, Youth Ministry, Social Communication, Missions, and Economy), Regional Councilor, Fr. Gabriel Romero, and the Councils of the Provinces of Don Bosco Salesians in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

(ANS - Viedma) - On Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, under the motto "Like Br. Zatti, let us not leave to tomorrow the good we can do today," the IX Pilgrimage to Viedma in honor of Artemide Zatti, SDB, the first following his canonization, was held, carried out in commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of his death on March 15, 1951. The first day began after noon, when the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, arrived in Viedma accompanied by the Superior of the Province of Argentina South (ARS), Fr. Darío Perera SDB, to thank God for the sanctification of Br. Zatti.

(ANS - Viedma) - On Sunday, March 19, the second day of the IX Pilgrimage to Viedma in honor of Artemide Zatti, SDB, the pilgrims who came from all over the country shared a moment of prayer in the courtyard of the old institute "San Francisco," located next to the Cathedral of Viedma, before the urn with the relics of Brother Zatti. Then, they left on a pilgrimage with the reliquaries of Br. Zatti through the streets of Viedma to Don Bosco Parish, where Mass would be held. In the meantime, in the auditorium of the "Don Bosco" parish, the Rector Major, Father Ángel Fernández Artime, had gathered the Directors and heads of the Salesian houses of the Province and all the consecrated Salesians.

Viedma, Argentina - March 2023 – In Viedma, on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, participated in the pilgrimage in honor of St. Artemide Zatti; its motto: "Like Br. Zatti, let us not leave to tomorrow the good we can do today." Beginning on the afternoon of Saturday 18, the Rector Major took part in numerous activities, including a conference and meeting with the Salesian Family, a Eucharistic Concelebration at Viedma Cathedral, a prayer vigil, and a youth party. Then, on Sunday 19, Don Bosco's Successor attended the pilgrimage proper, accompanying the urn containing Br. Zatti's relics through the streets of Viedma. This year the pilgrimage took on special significance, since it is the first edition to take place after Artemide Zatti's canonization.
