ARTEMIDE ZATTI

(ANS - Viedma) - This weekend, on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, the city of Viedma shall welcome thousands of pilgrims. Under the motto "Like Br. Zatti, let us not leave to tomorrow the good we can do today," they come to Viedma to pray and to give thanks in the city where the "relative of the poor" did his work and where his remains rest today. Within hours of this important ecclesial and devotional event, Bishop of Viedma, Msgr. Esteban Laxague SDB, gave an interview to "donboscosur," the website of the Salesians of the Province of South Argentina.

(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Father Ángel Fernández Artime, is participating in a pilgrimage in Viedma in honor of St. Artemide Zatti, SDB, this weekend, March 18-19, 2023. The pilgrimage takes place in Viedma, the city where the saintly nurse fulfilled much of his mission on behalf of the poor and the sick, just days from the 72nd anniversary of the Salesian saint's death, which was commemorated on March 15. Although this is already the 9th edition of the event, it is, however, the first to be held after his canonization.

(ANS - Rome) - March 15 marks the anniversary of the death of St. Artemide Zatti: it is the first anniversary of his birth to Heaven after celebrating his canonization last Oct. 9, 2022. The chronicle of the Salesian boarding school in Viedma recalls that, according to custom, on March 15, 1951, in the morning the bell announced the flight to Heaven of Salesian coadjutor Br. Artemide Zatti, and reports these prophetic words, "One less brother at home and one more saint in Heaven."

(ANS - Viedma) - The IX Pilgrimage to Viedma in honor of Artemide Zatti, SDB, the first following his Canonization, will take place on Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19, 2023; its motto: "Like Br. Zatti, let us not leave to tomorrow the good we can do today".  The event will commemorate the 72nd anniversary of his death in Viedma, which took place on March 15, 1951. Thousands of faithful will gather to pray and thank God in the town where the "relative of the poor" carried out his work and where his remains rest today; among the faithful, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime.

(ANS - Rome) - The canonization of Artemide Zatti carried out on Oct. 9, 2022, in Rome lives again in a bilingual, Italian and Spanish book (Artemide Zatti. Santo salesiano amico dei poveri. Edizione S.D.B, pp. 136) that collects speeches and documents related not only to this event, but also to the beatification. Editorially, the volume is edited by Fr. Giuseppe Costa, Co-spokesman of the Salesian Congregation.

(ANS - Córdoba) - A new song dedicated to the saint of the poor and the sick, the relative of all the poor, the saintly nurse of Viedma, has been released; its title: "Zatti camino a Dios" (Zatti on his way to God), born as a challenge to offer a more festive and lively material than the equally beautiful song "La aventura de sanar" (The adventure of healing). In fact, the authors of both songs are the same: Salesian coadjutors Br. Isaac Aguilera, from the Province of Argentina North (ARN), and Br. Stefan Crescia, from the Province of Argentina South (ARS).
