Brazil - Don Bosco Catholic University of Campo Grande produces sanitizing gel for community

25 March 2020

Campo Grande, Brazil - March 2020 - The Don Bosco Catholic University (UCDB) of Campo Grande, through its Pharmacy course professionals, has started the production of alcohol disinfectant for people on campus and for users of the “Basic Unit for Family Health” that operates at the institution. The measure is intended to be a contribution of UCDB to society, making itself self-sustainable for this type of product, which has become scarce in recent days. "I emphasize that the products used are sold by chemical companies only to accredited technicians and not in supermarkets and pharmacies," said the course coordinator, Marla Ribeiro Arima Miranda. UCDB Rector, Fr José Marinoni, underscored: "As a university committed to the community, in this difficult moment for the country we want to be in solidarity, through concrete gestures, in what we are responsible for: science for the benefit of society." From 16 March, UCDB's lessons take place in virtual environments, employees in risk situations work from home, and various preventive measures are being taken and implemented day by day.
