Slovakia - A "Lenten curtain" to stay close despite the coronavirus

09 April 2020

Bratislava, Slovakia - April 2020 - For the second consecutive year, the Salesian parish "Saint John Bosco" in Trnávka, Bratislava, has placed a "Lenten curtain" inside the church focused on the theme "staying close". The large artistic installation (9 x 9 meters) was created with the active contribution of several parishioners who, coordinated by the artist Dorota Sadovska, brought their old clothes to be inserted into the curtain. This artifact, which hides the apse and everything that remains behind the altar and the crucifix from view, should have been removed for Easter Mass, but under the circumstances, it will remain for more weeks. The Director of the Salesian community, Fr Tibor Reimer, presented in a video the meaning and procedures used for the Lenten curtain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw6vNF4612Y&t
