Slovenia - Salesians, collaborators, past pupils together for new boarding school

04 June 2020

Želimlje, Slovenia - June 2020 - After 20 years, the Salesian Institute in Želimlje has become small for the increasingly more young people who want to attend the "John Bosco Boarding School". The Salesians thus planned its expansion, and together with the collaborators, students and past pupils, they promoted a fundraising campaign. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the campaign was carried out via social networks featuring: a virtual tour of the project; "Concerts from the armchair" made by past pupils, musicians and singers; an online auction sponsored by the Don Bosco Foundation of objects donated by athletes, singers, established artists. Also, educators and students presented Don Bosco's spirituality, which is part of the boarding school education, which is expressed above all through music: a group of students sang a song about Don Bosco, written by the pupil Blaž Podobnik.
