RMG – Fr Chaban Mychaylo appointed as Provincial of Ukraine Vice Province

(ANS - Rome) - During the General Council's summer session, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consensus of his council, appointed Fr Chaban Mychaylo as Provincial of the Ukrainian Vice-Province of the Greek Catholic rite "Mary Help of Christians" (UKR ) based in Lviv, for the 2020-2026 term.

Fr Chaban was born on 20 December 1976 in Lviv, Ukraine, did his novitiate in Kopiec, Poland, between 1995 and 1996, where he made his first profession on August 22, 1996. He made his perpetual profession on 14 September 2002 in Lviv, where he was ordained a priest on June 27, 2004.

Fr Chaban was first the Economer of the Vice-Province Seat (2004-2006), then Director (2006-2015), then Vicar (2015-2018) and finally again Director (2018 - in progress) of the "Blessed Filippo Rinaldi" work in Lviv.

He was Economer of the Delegation of the Eastern Circumscription (2005-2012); Vicar of the UKR Vice Province (2012-2015); Delegate for the Salesian Family of the UKR Vice Province (2014-2015). He is currently Economer of the UKR Vice Province (since 2015) and Delegate of the Vice Province for Social Communications - Publishing (since 2018).
