Buterere, Burundi - March 2021 - On 6 March the members of the Salesian Family of Burundi celebrated the feast day of the Strenna 2021 of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, entitled: “Moved by hope: 'See, I am making all things new' (Rev 21,5)”. The event, organized this year by the Past Pupils, took place in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Buterere, with the presentation of the Strenna led by Salesian deacon Jean Marie Hitimana, followed by a moment of sharing and dialogue. Fr Raphaël Katanga, Rector of the Shrine, presided over the Eucharist; in his homily, he urged the assembly to live Lent well in order to put into practice the Strenna of the Rector Major. At the end of the Mass, the festive program continued with lunch, traditional dances, presentation of some past pupils who have held important functions in the government and the closing speech by Fr Benjamin Gahungu, Delegate for the Salesian Family of the "Africa Great Lakes" Vice Province ( AGL).
