Paraguay - "Salesianito" Institute receives National Youth Science Award 2020

Asunción, Paraguay - April 2021 - Two students from the "Salesianito" Institute of Asunción, who graduated in 2020, Valentina Diaz and Rubén Robadín, won first place at the "Pierre et Marie Curie 2020" National Youth Science Award. The winners presented the project "Mask detector program with instant alarm at access to places of community circulation", with the tutoring of Professor Esteban Duarte. The project consists of an Artificial Intelligence program that analyzes people's faces when they enter a public place by issuing a warning if they are without masks. The young people received a full scholarship for the study of the French language, plus laptops, encyclopedias and a microscope for the Institute. The National Youth Science Award is organized by the National Council of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Science, the French Embassy in Paraguay and the French Alliance.
