Italy - Cardinal Amato ordains nine Salesians as deacons

Rome, Italy - June 2021 - Nine Salesians of the International Studentate of Theology of the "Blessed Zeffirino Namuncurá" Roma-Gerini community received their diaconate ordination on June 19 at the Basilica of San Giovanni Bosco in Cinecittà, Rome, by the hands of Cardinal Angelo Amato, SDB, Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for the Cause of Saints. Present were Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, and Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication. The new deacons come from different countries: Luvundo Capalo from Angola; Faustin Bahati, a Congolese missionary in Sri Lanka; Krystian Sukiennik from Poland; Josip Tafra from Croatia; Danilo Guedes from Brazil-Campo Grande; Wellington Abreu from Brazil-Manaus; Fortunato Henrique from East Timor; Brian Mukuka (ZMB) and Don Nyika, a Zambian missionary in Albania.
