RMG – Salesian Family: work begins on the new website

05 August 2021

(ANS - Rome) - Last Friday, 30 July, a meeting was held digitally with about twenty representatives of different groups of the Salesian Family to reflect on communications between the various groups and think about the future of the new website, to be relaunched in November 2021. Among those taking part were the central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, Fr Joan Lluís Playà, Bro. Domenico Nam Nguyen, SDB, Delegate for the Salesian Cooperators and the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Fr Harris Pakkam, Director of ANS, the Salesian news agency, and Fr Pierluigi Lanotte, web designer of the new website project.

After the opening prayer, Fr Lanotte presented the main changes and updates planned for the Salesian Family website. All the groups belonging to it will find a space for sharing, information, news and events of the different groups, together with documents, formation resources, updates on holiness and everything concerning the main events of the Salesian Family: the Days of Spirituality, the World Council, and plenty more.

In general terms, the website is being proposed as an updated showcase of the Groups belonging to the vast Salesian Family.

All the meeting's participants were able to express their expectations and made suggestions for the construction of this communication project, as well as taking the first steps to establishing a network of people involved in its development and success.

Thus the parable of the cords narrated by Don Bosco in the first Regulations of the Salesian Cooperators takes shape in an evermore concrete way ("Weak forces when united become strong, and if a cord taken alone easily breaks, it is very difficult to break three reunited"); but now this parable involves all the Groups of the Salesian Family Charism.
