(ANS - Brussels) - Next Monday and Tuesday, 4-5 October 2021, the fourth conference on Social Innovation for Refugee Inclusion (SI4RI, in English) will take place in digital mode. The event, jointly organized by the European Institute for Migration Policies, the United States Mission to the European Union, the Canadian Mission to the European Union and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), has proposed an ambitious objective from its very title: “Sowing innovation in the cracks of crisis”.

The "SI4RI" conference builds on previous editions in 2016, 2017 and 2019. The event shall explore and focus on how the broad panorama of partnerships, social enterprises, participatory models and community-guided initiatives will lead a social innovation in favor of the inclusion of people on the margins who have experienced and dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event will also discuss how this ecosystem can emerge, strengthened from the crisis, and how innovations can reach the geographical and human peripheries of society, as well as highly vulnerable groups.

"Don Bosco International", the representative body of the Salesian Congregation to the institutions of the European Union, will also closely follow the event, through the participation of its Executive Secretary, Renato Cursi.
