Philippines - Salesian Practical trainees fill social networks with positivity and Salesian charism

28 October 2021

Mandaluyong, Philippines - October 2021 - Salesian Practical trainees from the Northern Philippine Province (FIN) launched the online apostolate called "KaBrads" (a jargon: "Brothers Together!") on 24 October. The initiative aims to reach large number of young people through social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and YouTube. The various content devised by them provide the space for the sharing of talents and skills and the human and Christian formation of young people. The principle on which "KaBrads" is based is Don Bosco's maxim: "Love what young people love, so that they love what you love". On the day of its launch on Zoom, live viewers peaked at 200 attendees, with 2,000 comments and over 300 shares. The Superior of the Salesian FIN Province, Fr Gerry Martin, gave the opening address and the traditional Salesian "good night".
