Ecuador – The expanded CSFPA team analyzes 2021 and plans for 2022

15 December 2021

(ANS - Quito) - The annual meeting of the expanded team was held at the Salesian Center for Ongoing Formation in America (CSFPA), in mixed mode: in-person and digital. The meeting’s goal was to make everyone aware of and evaluate the activities of the year 2021 (online due to the pandemic), as well as planning those for next year, both digital and face-to-face. The meeting was attended by members of the team from the center and some Salesians from the Salesian Headquarters in Rome: the two Regional Councilors of the continent - Fr Hugo Orozco, for the Interamerica Region, and Fr Gabriel Romero for the America South Cone Region - and representatives of both the Formation Sector and the Economer General’s office.

During the two days of meeting, November 26-27, the precious participation of the Salesians of Don Bosco, the laity and members of the Salesian Family in the two editions of the course "With the eyes of Don Bosco" (5 facilitators, 31 tutors and 172 participants), lasting 5 months each, was highlighted. The goal of this activity, it was underlined, was to "bring the wisdom of reading, assuming and transforming reality closer, starting from the light that brings us the life and charisma of our father Don Bosco"; and to this end, efforts were made to "make known and exercise the characteristics of Salesian discernment of reality, applying the method of seeing, judging and acting, to take it as a way of making Salesian identity today current and up-to-date."

Similarly, the presence at the 11 conferences on Salesian themes held during 2021, with a total of 10,915 participants, was assessed as extremely appropriate and satisfactory.

For next year, the proposals will concern: face-to-face courses on Salesianity, the third edition of the course "With the eyes of Don Bosco" and the offer of new conferences on Salesian themes for all of America.
