(ANS - Rome) - Immediately following the end of the forthcoming Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family (SDSF), another event will take place in Valdocco and in the Salesian Places of Piedmont to share the Salesian spirit among the members of the various groups of this great spiritual family: the course for Delegates of the Salesian Family (SF).

The event shall take up almost a whole week, from 16 to 22 January, and will involve about thirty participants, including Salesian Delegates from various countries and Provinces around the world, Delegates from other groups of the Salesian Family and speakers.

Work will begin on the afternoon of Sunday 16 January- therefore immediately after the closure of the 40th edition of the (SDSF) - and includes the presentation of the course and greetings by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime.

On the morning of Monday 17, the activities include an intervention by Fr Giuseppe Casti, former World Delegate for the Salesian Cooperators, on the theme “Don Bosco founder: The Salesian movement. The laity in the mind of Don Bosco”; also, the presentation of various SF groups: Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils of Don Bosco and the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA). The day will be completed with a visit to the Don Bosco House Museum.

A visit to Colle Don Bosco is scheduled for Tuesday 18 January. In addition to the time for the visit to the Becchi and the Eucharist in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, during the day the two reports - one in the morning, one in the afternoon - by Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major Emeritus, on the Identity Card of the Salesian Family are among the highlights.

Wednesday 19 will be dedicated to an in-depth study of the figure, role and mission of the Delegate for the SF, thanks to the contribution of Fr Joan Lluís Playà, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family; and of the relationship between the SF and Youth Ministry and the SF and Formation. The interventions on these two themes are foreseen, respectively, by Fr Miguel Angel García, General Councilor for Youth Ministry, and Fr Francisco Santos, from the Formation Sector.

Thursday 20 at the center of the reflections and experiences will be the female Salesian spirituality. At Mornese, the participants in the meeting will be able to hear the reports of Sr. Lucrecia Uribe, World Delegate of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) for ADMA, and of Sr. Leslie Sándigo, General Councilor for the Salesian Family, as well as learning more about the Association of Past Pupils of the FMA, and to experience a moment of prayer in the “room” of Mother Maria Domenica Mazzarello.

Finally, Friday 21 January, the last full day of work - Saturday is reserved for handling the last logistical formalities - there will still be room to think about the role of the laity in the Salesian Family, thanks to the intervention of Renato Cursi, Executive Secretary of the “Don Bosco International "; and to attend the presentation of the groups of the Volunteers of Don Bosco and of the Volunteers with Don Bosco, the exposition on the sanctity of the SF, by the Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the SF, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, and the presentation of the functions of the Secretariat for the SF, by Fr Joan Lluís Playà.
