Lubumbashi, DR Congo - January 9, 2022 - On Sunday January 9, 2022, the Salesian Family of the "Assumption of Mary" Province gathered in the "St. Francis de Sales" Institute of Imara, in the city of Lubumbashi, for a day dedicated to deepening the Strenna of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, for 2022. The day began with prayer led by the AFC Provincial, Fr Guillermo Basanes, and by Sr. Clarisse Ngoy, Superior of the Central African Province of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. Subsequently, the AFC Provincial presided over the Eucharist, in which, inspired by the Gospel of the day, he recalled: "As the Salesian Family, we are a baptized people and we are called to baptize". It should be noted that the offerings collected during the Mass were intended as a gesture of international solidarity with the Filipino SDB and FMA communities affected by the recent typhoon Rai/Odette. The day’s third important moment was the illustration of the Strenna 2022’s message, commented by Fr Pascal Nyunda, Novice Master of AFC. The day then continued with an assessment of the pastoral activities of 2021, moments of leisure and agape, and the message of Sister Ngoy's “Salesian goodnight”.
