Hungary – New National Association of Past Pupils being formed in Hungary

07 February 2022

(ANS – Budapest) – Every year, the Salesian Family in Hungary come together at the end of January to celebrate the feast of Don Bosco. This year, it was no exception, but this time the celebration was more special as for the first time the Past Pupils of Don Bosco in Hungary attended the meeting to start the process of establishing the National Association of Past Pupils in Hungary.

Three leaders - Marton, Adam, and Réca - have been working for months prior to this occasion to share proposals on the organisation and statute which were gathered from a questionnaire with feedback from their 700 members of their Facebook Page of Past Pupils of Don Bosco of Hungary.

The team presented a well thought and professional presentation with some creative ideas inspired by the work of the World Confederation.

During the annual meeting of the Salesian Family, the Past Pupils of Don Bosco from Hungary had the opportunity to discuss and plan the next steps moving forward. During the month of February, past pupils will reflect on the ideas presented and they will process all feedback with the aim of finalising the consultation.

In the beginning of March 2022, the Past Pupils of Hungary will meet again to establish the official body of a National Association and hold the first official elections for the National Presidency.
