Brazil - UniSALESIANO of Araçatuba opens a modern Laboratory of Technique and Dietetics

Araçatuba, Brazil - February 2022 - On February 23, the Salesian University "UniSALESIANO" of Araçatuba inaugurated a Laboratory of Technique and Dietetics of the Nutrition Course. The Coordinator of the Nutrition Course, Prof. Ariadine Pires, explained that the new space, which is highly innovative, with state-of-the-art equipment, aims to show students the physical and chemical transformations that occur in food during the various processes from preparation to consumption. "We are very happy to offer students a space where they will develop practical activities of theoretical content with subsequent physical-chemical and sensory analyses of food, as well as perform good food hygiene practices," he added. The laboratory will be used for classes in: Technique and Dietetics, Maternal Nutrition, Child Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Phytotherapy, Functional Foods, Sports Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Hospital Diets, as well as research and dissemination activities. The students of the Nutrition Course, with the new Laboratory, will also have the opportunity to develop skills for the preparation of food, relating it to its nutritional, sensory, microbiological, and economic value.
