Warsaw, Poland - March 2022 - On March 15, at the Provincial House in Warsaw, Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, presided over the meeting of the Delegates for Social Communication of the four Polish Provinces. Among other things, the visit aimed to present one of the programmatic lines of the six-year term proposed by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, on the "Salesian sacrament" of presence. The meeting was also an opportunity to listen to each other and share experiences of this particular ministry in the Salesian Congregation and in the Provinces and to evaluate and strengthen collaboration in the field of Social Communication in Salesian Poland. In addition, the institutional communication policy in the Provinces was discussed. On the sidelines of the meeting, Fr Mendes also gave an interview to the editorial staff of a Catholic program on Polish television, in which he spoke about the role of Salesians and Salesian media in the ongoing war in Ukraine, and commented on the letter of the Rector Major on the situation in that country, promoting communication based on solidarity in the service of peace.
