Guayaquil, Ecuador - An old picture showing a group of students from the "Cristóbal Colón" Institute of Guayaquil during a gymnastics performance. The beginnings of this institute date back to August 8, 1892, when the National Council of Ecuador approved the foundation of a school of Arts and Trades that would be under the direction of the Salesian Congregation. Officially, the school began operating with its first 8 students in 1912.
