(ANS – Bangalore) – The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted every aspect of our lives. Global security is now constantly threatened by the continuous insurgencies from extremist groups and geopolitical tensions between nations. Moreover, environmental sustainability and climate change are currently challenging nations to act urgently. These societal maladies will fester until we direct our focus on the young, the future generation. Addressing the various challenges facing today's youth requires a comprehensive, intergenerational, and cross-sectoral approach, with the participation of governments, corporates, youth, and all segments of society. Empowerment of youth would require a holistic approach along the terms of educational attainment, digital accessibility, poverty reduction, employability, environment protection, and youth entrepreneurship.

Bosconet - Don Bosco Network is launching the YESS Forum 2022 [Youth Empowerment for Sustainability and Social Impact]. It will be held on Earth Day, 22 April 2022, to unfold the Sustainability landscape of Don Bosco Network along with its CSR partners.

The Forum will unfold impact-driven CSR partnership models undertaken by Non-profits, start-ups, government schemes related initiatives, and other stakeholders in four critical tracks as given below:

1. Education for all.

2. Skills for sustainable livelihood.

3. Climate Action.

4. Gender Justice.

The Forum envisages opening new avenues for collaboration and ideation that will guide stakeholders in the development sector, to incorporate best practices and innovative ideas in their interventions, to ignite change and maximize impact on Youth.

“We would like to invite and encourage everyone to join us in this discussion on the approaches towards solving the social issues in the above-mentioned areas.”

“We are also privileged to announce that Shri Piyush Goyal, the Honorable Minister of Commerce, India, launched the ‘YESS Forum’, along with Fr. Noel Madhichetty, Director Bosconet; Fr. Santhanam, Assistant Director of Bosconet; and Jose Jacob Kalayil, Director, TIA Summit”, the Forum organizers’ state.

The minister will also present the ‘Keynote address’ on April 22, Earth Day.

The forum will be held from 9 am to 5 pm with a hybrid summit - streaming live from “Taj West End, Bangalore”.
