Chile - Leaders' Day: invited to be home, courtyard, parish, and school
Santiago, Chile - April 2022 - Representatives of the Salesian Schools Network of Chile participated in the Day of Leaders, held in attendance on April 21 and 22. The Director of the network, Juan Pablo Vásquez, welcomed the leaders, expressing his desire to share the best practices and experiences of the various pastoral educational communities. Fr Juan Miguel Cárcamo, Delegate for Youth Ministry of the Salesian Province of Chile, deepened the theme of Salesianity in times of pandemic, basing himself on the four Oratorian criteria of home, school, courtyard, and parish. He stressed that "when we talk about our schools, we want to form people, however, we must not give up being a parish that evangelizes, because it is very important in our pastoral educational proposal." After the presentation, the principals reflected in groups on the question, "When am I home, courtyard, parish, school?" Next, the participants worked on the "Curricular Project", convinced that its proper implementation is bearing fruit and in this time of pandemic has become even more important. Then they worked on the design and implementation of the Abuse Prevention Program in Salesian schools, the economic management of the Salesian Schools Network, the Salesian digital heritage, the Social-Emotional Management Plan in Salesian schools, and the educational digital transformation with Google certification.
