Poland - Meeting of Aid Coordination Team for Ukraine
Warsaw, Poland - July 2022 - A meeting of the Aid Coordination Team for Ukraine, chaired by Fr. George Menamparampil, Head of Salesian Emergency Response Coordination Team, was held on July 19-21 at the Warsaw Provincial House. Held in presence and online, the meeting was attended by representatives of Salesian organizations from Europe (Spain, Germany, Italy, Moldova), the Salesian Bishop of the Diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr, Msgr. Witalij Krywicki, the Superior of the Salesian Vice Province of Ukraine, Fr. Mykhaylo Chaban, and Sister Jolanta Lisak, FMA. Also, representatives of all Polish Provinces, responsible for aid coordination and crisis: Fr. Krzysztof Tomeczkowski, Fr. Lesław Klamer, Fr. Marcin Wosiek. On the occasion, the work aimed at helping refugees and Ukraine was summarized and activities were planned for the coming months. Those present at the meeting also had the opportunity to visit the Warsaw Oratory, the Mission Center in Warsaw, and the house in Czerwińsk, and to see how the Salesians in Poland help the victims of war. In the coming days, the Salesian Provinces of Krakow and Warsaw will also be visited by a representative of the Salesian NGO "Don Bosco Jugendhilfe Weltweit" from Switzerland, which works with the Salesians in Poland to help refugees.
