05 August 2022

Goma, R.D. Congo - August 2022 - At the end of the pastoral and school year, the Salesian community of the "Boscolac" mission organized an event to thank all the people of goodwill who supported the Salesian mission. The Salesian community "Boscolac" is the only formation house of the Delegation of the Central African Province (AFC), located in the east of the country, in Mugunga/Nyabyunyu, a suburban area about 20 kilometers from the city of Goma. The most vulnerable and disadvantaged populations live there, and young people gladly attend the mission as the Salesians present organize various recreational and religious activities. "Boscolac" gives boys and girls the opportunity to learn a trade at its Vocational Training Center in cutting and sewing, and to develop their talents at the oratory - attended by about 100 young people -which organizes activities in theater, music, and sports. The establishment of the mission of "Boscolac" was made possible thanks to the benefactor group "Marineo Solidale," which supported the schooling of ten young people and the purchase of materials for the oratory's activities, and also by Poste Italiane, as far as solidarity sending is concerned.
