East Asia Oceania – August 2022 – On 4th August, 31 participants connected via the digital ZOOM platform for the 7th session of the EAO SC School of Formation. Father Henry Bonetti, sdb (Korea) and Fr Samuel Yu sdb Korea Social Communications delegate presented the session. The theme was: “Changing value systems and the need for a Christian worldview.” The participants were invited to reject the ‘culture of death’ that neglects – in the words of Pope Francis – “the God of Life and despises the dignity of men, women and the young”. Moral judgement, happiness or unhappiness, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Globalization, the confusion of values, a self-centered value system and Christian values was touched upon during the presentation. This led to sharing of experiences and discussion on what we as Social Communicators can do to help young people choose the right values.
