Australia - Fr Joseph Phuoc begins Extraordinary Visitation to Salesian Province AUL

Melbourne, Australia - August 2022 - The General Councillor for the East Asia-Oceania Region, Fr Joseph Phuoc, arrived in Australia on 22 August to begin the Extraordinary Visitation, on behalf of the Rector Major, to the Australian Province (AUL). On his arrival in Melbourne, Fr Phuoc was welcomed by Fr William Matthew, AUL Provincial and Fr Peter John Carroll, the Provincial Economer. On 24 and 25 August, Fr Phuoc attended the Provincial Council, in the presence of Fr Petelo Vito (Delegate for the Pacific region), Fr Anthony Dung Nguyen (Delegate for Formation) and Fr Brian Ahern (Delegate for Youth Ministry). On the evening of 25 August, Fr Joseph Phuoc presided over the opening Eucharist of the Extraordinary Visitation with the participation of the Provincial Council and many Salesians of Melbourne. This is the first time that Fr Phuoc has visited Australia and will see the vastness of the AUL Province, which also includes Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand. The Extraordinary Visitation will end in mid-October 2022.
