Italy - XV ICC Provincial Assembly 2022: three days full of formation, testimonies and sharing

02 September 2022

Rome, Italy - August 2022 - The XV Assembly of the Central Italy Circumscription (ICC) was held at Don Bosco in Rome from August 25-27. It was three days rich in formation, testimonies and sharing, lived in a spirit of family, which helped reflect on the new pastoral year, guided by the theme "Noi ci s(t)iamo, non con le percosse, ma con la mansuetudine" or we are here, present, with a gentle, kind hand, not a shakedown. The first day began with the testimony of Fr. Fabio Rosini, who told how his way of evangelizing young people came about. Then Cecilia Corrias, Alessandro Iannini and a play led by Pierluigi Tortora recalled the figure of Salesian Fr. Alfonso Alfano. The report by ICC Provincial Fr. Stefano Aspettati, titled "The Future of our Joyful Presence at the Service of the Youth of Central Italy," introduced the second day. After a careful overview of the current social, ecclesiastical and Congregational context, the Provincial highlighted the fundamental choices of the future project: "to live with young people and especially with the poorest, in communities (religious and CEP) that put Jesus Christ and his proclamation at the center, within a provincial 'body' committed to a courageous redesign." In the afternoon each educational environment carried out a workshop on evangelization of the poorest youth. On the third day, the guidelines for Youth Ministry, Economy, Formation and Salesian Family were given, with all the initiatives and proposals for this year.
