Italy - Rector Major's invitation for Artemide Zatti’s canonization, "a gift from God for the Church and the Salesian Family"

30 September 2022

(ANS - Turin) - From the Salesian heart of Valdocco, via video-message, the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, invites the entire Congregation, the entire Salesian Family, and all those who in various ways love and support Don Bosco's mission, to follow and actively participate in the great event of the canonization of Artemide Zatti, scheduled for Sunday, October 9 on the parvis of St. Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican.

Here is the appeal of the 10th Successor of Don Bosco:

"My dearest Salesian Family throughout the world, dear friends of Don Bosco, dear young people and people involved in Salesianity in those places where you are, I greet you with true affection. And at the same time, with my words, I want to invite you to accompany us to follow this great gift very closely, a gift of God's grace for the Church and for all our Salesian Family that the canonization, on October 9, of Artemide Zatti, at the hands of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, shall be.

A great gift for the Church, a great gift for all of us, with this figure of the first non-martyr Salesian saint, Salesian coadjutor, migrant to Argentina, an educator in the world of health and closeness to the weakest, to the sick.

So I thank you for going together. Thank you for all your prayers. See you soon, we are expecting you!"

Made thanks to a collaboration between the Sector for Social Communication and "IME Communication," the video-message can be seen on ANSChannel.
