Argentina – "¡Creí... prometí... sané!": canonization hymn of Artemide Zatti, SDB

04 October 2022

(ANS - Buenos Aires) - Argentine priest Fr. Eduardo Meana, a Salesian and author of numerous songs that for decades have been helping young people and adults throughout Latin America to encounter God, wrote the lyrics of the hymn for the canonization of Artemide Zatti: "¡Creí... prometí... sané!" (I believed... I promised... I was healed!)

The result of readings, reflections, and intense prayers concerning the figure of Artemide Zatti, the song is an authentic "catechesis" on the Blessed and future saint's life and spirituality and seeks to bring the listener closer to the essence of Br. Zatti's holiness.

The song’s lyrics are also part of the work that gave rise to the book Fr. Meana wrote for the Salesian publishing house "Ediciones Don Bosco Argentina," titled "I believed. I promised. I was healed. Contemplating the Holiness of God in Artemide Zatti."

"Eduardo is a craftsman of the word, a wordsmith. That word that he went selecting with care, with art, with delicacy, with freshness, the pure truth ... with beauty. His work has the flavor of craftsmanship combined with the architectural grandeur of his proposal," Argentine Salesian coadjutor Br. José Sobrero, a scholar on the figure of Artemide Zatti, wrote in describing this hymn.

The musical piece is the result of a joint effort between Fr. Eduardo Meana, Jorge Moraga, a member of the team at the Salesian Center for Permanent Formation in Quito, Ecuador, for the musical arrangements, and a large number of artists who collaborated on the recording: Guillermo González, Irma Bravo, Ignacio Saavedra, Christian Chávez.
