São Paulo, Brazil - February 2023 - Thanks to an unprecedented partnership with the São Paulo city government, on Monday, February 6, the Salesian secondary school "Coração de Jesus," located in the "Campos Elíseos" neighborhood, began offering classes to 500 new students from the public school network, who will be able to study there for free. To introduce pupils and parents to their new school, the first day of classes was dedicated to welcoming them: the young people had a moment of getting acquainted and speaking with the teaching staff, while their parents and guardians met with the school's management. Fr. Justo Ernesto Piccinini, Superior of the Province of Brazil-São Paulo, welcomed the families and presented the Salesian Congregation on a global and national level, emphasizing its mission in favor of people in situations of social vulnerability. Then, Fr. Marco Biaggi, Director, illustrated the school’s history. Finally, the Principal, Nilza Souza, also assured the quality of the school's pedagogical team and facilities, which are able to provide an education focused on each student’s opportunity to be a key player and particpant.
